Where to look for more information on Salesforce.com:
- Compare editions to find the right one for you (how do I know which edition I'm on now?)
| |
You can easily tell which edition you are currently running by logging into Salesforce.com and checking your browser title bar. |
- Want to try it out risk free? Get a free fully functioning 30-day trial or use the basic, low-cost Contact Manager edition. This replaces their previously free Personal Edition as of September 2009 and is still a good place to start exploring the "Sales Cloud".
- Salesforce.com's Community site has great resources; search the blog for how-to's, find out what's new in the Winter '10 release (great analytics advances like combined charts and hover details on dashboards; finally: filters for lookup fields, still in beta but looks promising; custom settings available to hold frequently accessed data like list of country names, commission settings by profile, etc, Apex batching and scheduling), post your ideas for new features and access free on-demand training
- Join the Force.com Developer Network for a free 2-user Developer account; test out changes before you implement them in your Production account and check out the Developer Discussion Board for invaluable tips and answers to questions big and small.
- Want to migrate some of the configuration changes you made in Sandbox to your production system? Now you can with the new metadata API and Force.com IDE - easy as cut and paste! Check out the wiki page for details, or ask us to show you. Now you can fully test your changes before migrating them to production. Imagine!
Also, exciting new beta release of the "Change Sets" sandbox to production deployment. Contact your salesrep if you wish to be part of this, or stand by and wait for it to be released to the public in an upcoming release.
